A Trout Fisherman's Private Paradise
As you explore this remarkable rural block with frontage to the Campbells River, you will see the endless possibilities this property has to offer. A cleared and easily maintained location it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Only 40 minutes from Bathurst and one hour from Orange makes this property the ultimate fishing and camping getaway.
The Campbells River is a general trout stream that holds an abundance of enormous brown and rainbow trout. The river is fed by a number of smaller creeks that flow through local forests and farmland. The river fills Ben Chifley Dam, and below the dam it flows into the Fish River, at which point the two rivers form the Macquarie River.
The best public access is available at Swallows Nest Road (Mt David Rd) on the southern edge of Dog Rock State Forest. This stretch of river holds some very large brown trout.
Fly fishing in the warmer months with brown beetles, hoppers, royal wulf’s, red tags and ant patterns is ideal. Nymphs work well in the early and late season, particularly after a little rain.
Using live grasshoppers as bait is an option when they are in large numbers along the river and fishing with lures also gets fish. Try small tassies, celters and rapala minnow imitations.
Located at Mount David with Campbells River frontage, this block is definitely worth considering as your country escape for camping, fishing and star gazing.
There is currently no building entitlement, an enquiry has been made however it is subject to future council approval.
